Nurture Psychology Service is a not-for-profit social enterprise, led and founded by Chartered Clinical Psychologists, who use their expert knowledge, scientific research and experience to improve the mental health of children, their families and those that work with them. We have particular expertise in trauma and attachment. Our surplus funds are reinvested in to serving the mental health of the local community.
Our aims at Nurture Psychology are to:
Use expert knowledge to enhance understanding and empower others
Offer a range of accessible, timely and cost effective treatments to promote resilience, prevention and early intervention
Provide a creative and quality service, using up to date evidence based and theory driven research, to inform and evaluate practice
Assist in improving the mental health of children and their families through assessments and interventions
Embed self-care and care of those working therapeutically with us through regular consultation, supervision and continued professional development
Provide a range of support in the form of consultation, workshops and training packages to universal services and professional groups; and
Operate on a not for private profit basis, with surplus funds being re-invested into the service, based on the needs identified by the community of people the co-operative works with

The level of assessment, intervention, consultation and training we offer varies from free phone consultation sessions and workshops, to more comprehensive work, such as detailed assessments or comprehensive packages of training, consultation and supervision for professionals.
We provide support for individual children and families, who can self-refer or be referred through GP, education or local authorities. All of our adoption support services can be paid for via the Adoption Support Fund

We also offer packages of consultation, supervision and training to schools, health care professionals, children's service, adoption services and third sector/ voluntary sector. Please contact us for how we might be able to support your organisation. All the training, supervision and consultation we offer will be informed by evidence and theory.
We have close links and provide training to the University of Manchester Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Clinical Psychology Doctorate Course.
Nurture-Psychology offer training and individually tailored psychological assessments and interventions for children and families struggling with any social, emotional or behavioural difficulty that is causing concern, such as:
Difficulties resulting from trauma and abuse
Anger and aggression
Self esteem and confidence
Self harming behaviours
Anxiety (such as phobias, panic attacks, separation anxiety)
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Bereavement or loss
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Cognitive ability assessment
