How we are

Helping Children and Families

What do we do to help children and families?

Helpful

Many children and their families experience distress and may be unsure of how someone else could help, or they have suffered with this problem for a long time, thinking others can’t help. Our range of options, starting with a free phone consultation, might help you establish if coming to see us is the right option for you, and how we can help.

Any assessment, intervention or training we recommend will be based on sound understanding, evidence and theory, and will be decided with you and involve you – every step of the way.

Tailored

We tailor our services to meet your individual needs and the needs of the child. The price and level of assessment, intervention, consultation and training we offer varies, to ensure you get the right and affordable support you need.  During the face-to-face consultations and/or our assessment, we will help you develop an understanding of the problem, including things that may be causing or maintaining the problem (formulation) and then we give ‘on the spot / initial’ recommendations for you to take away and try, and if necessary we will discuss potential therapy/treatment.  All of this will be written up for you in a detailed care plan.

Successful

The directors / founders of Nurture Psychology developed and led an effective way of consulting with, understanding and making treatment recommendations with parents, carers and professionals without involving the child, which can be a preferred option for some parents/carers and children.

Nurture Psychology directors and their team were nominated for the Principles of Care Award across Pennine Care for the innovative and effective assessment and treatment model they developed for seeing families and children. This model is used to within Nurture Psychology.

Please contact us and we can advice you as to the best option for you and your family.
